The Community Chest "(it's so) Funny (now)" Single Launch

The Community Chest are a synth-heavy indie rock band from Australia. Their first release was 2013's "" album, drawing musical influences from the murky past to the shiny present.

They released a futuristic folk EP called "" in late 2015. Mastered in London by Paul Tipler (, ), it's an off the cuff, improvised record. 2019's "Concrete", features shorter, concise song ideas. The singles "Reflections Through Corrugations" (2019) and "In My Dreams" (2020) placed 71 and 24 respectively in the top 100 most played songs on RTRFM. Western Oz Radio placed "In My Dreams" at No.1 for 2020. The single "Handshake", released in April 2021 is a banger built from a loop and layers of the band's favourite sounds. It features post production by Andy Ramsay of Stereolab and an irreverent yet brilliant accompanying video. September 2021's Sounder harks back to a pre-pandemic visit to Pittsburgh by  . The song was mixed by Aaron Espinoza of  and Jason Lytle of  in Los Angeles. Jason also played something else on the recording but he won't say what.

In March 2024 they released a synth pop EP called Mono/Poly, featuring the 3 singles from 2020-21 and two new songs, Memory Man (B52s-ish surf rock) and One Way Flight (a tender revenge ballad ).

In June 2026, the band will release the single (It's so) Funny (now) from a forthcoming mini-album.
